My main sources for blog posts!

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our blog!

As you can see from the title in this blog post I’m going to be talking about the main sources that help me to do the research, collect reliable information and share it with you!

Nowadays it is extremely important to double-check the absorbed information.

Fake news and misleading information all around the web makes it easy to fall into a trap.

But you’re not one of those who quickly looks at the news, and without any doubt of its credibility make assumptions and conclusions? Well, that means you’re in the right place!

Here’s a list of my top 6 sources!

1. The Zero-Waste Chef (https://zerowastechef.com/)

Is essentially a lifestyle blog that provides information on minimizing your waste. The author of the blog is Anne Marie Bonneau, who’s concerned with the planet’s plastic pollution problem and is plastic-free since 2011. She offers great tips on how to reduce your waste, writes recipes and promotes to make home-made deodorant, toothpaste etc. It’s not only zero-waste but also healthier as you’re aware of ingredients that put in there. The website makes the viewers realize that quitting plastic is achievable and even easy. Personally, I find The Zero-Waste Chef source extremely useful, innovative and mind-changing!

2. National Geographic

I’m sure you’ve heard about this one! National Geographic is a magazine, moreover, there is a National Geographic Chanel, and National Geographic Society. This veteran news source is dedicated to explore and protect the planet. With the help of the world’s best scientists, photographs, journalists, and filmmakers, National Geographic brings its valuable content to the audience since 1988. Nevertheless, the organization remains relevant to this day as it raises serious issues about our planet and delivers “the stories that matter”.

3. Grist ( https://grist.org/ )

Grist was founded is 1999 as one of the first online, independent web publications that covered serious topics about the environment. This is a popular blog site where readers can find articles about climate, sustainability, social justice etc. As stated in their about page: “Our mantra these days: Don’t freak out. Figure it out.” This citation underlines their attitude toward global problems. I enjoy using Grist as one of the sources for my blog due to its straightforward approach and the willingness to change the world and humanity’s impact especially.

4. Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation (https://www.leonardodicaprio.org/news/ )

A well-known actor, environmentalist, and philanthropist, Leonardo Dicaprio established his foundation in 1998 with the mission to protect the worlds last wild places. According to the website, through partnership, LDF supports innovative projects that protect vulnerable wildlife from extinction, while restoring balance to threatened ecosystems and communities. There are action funds with multiple purposes aimed at different environmental issues such as landscapes & wildlife, marine life & oceans, climate change, innovative solutions. To help the foundation financially the viewer can make a donation on the website. I believe that the LDF foundation has a big impact as well as a lot of potential and perspectives in the nearest future.

5. Inhabitat (https://inhabitat.com/)

The website was founded 2005 by designer Jill Fehrenbacher.

Inhabitat “is devoted to the future of design, innovative technology and any architectural projects or concepts that emphasize energy efficiency, sustainability, and connection to the surrounding environment.'' Articles cover topics including green energy, architecture, design, innovation, waste management, recycling, green tips, traveling green and eco-friendly guides among many others. It is an inspiring source with the bunch of ideas and innovations!

6. Lonely Whale

Lonely Whale Foundation is particularly concerned about the marine pollution, that was caused by humans. Their main goal is to protect global waters from plastic such as straws, plastic shopping bags etc. The straws harm seabirds, turtles and other marine creatures. This website has greatly affected my life, I stopped using disposable straws, and reduce the consumption of plastic. I follow Lonely Whale’s Instagram and often share their posts with my friends to spread this crucial information. People deserve to know the reality and what is going on in the world!

Hope you enjoyed,

Maria
